From solar cell panels at DAFA’s headquarters
May, 2020
By 2030, 100% of DAFA Group’s energy consumption is derived from renewable energy.
At DAFA, we are ambitious when it comes to sustainable initiatives, which is why we aim for 100% renewable energy by 2030.
As a manufacturing business, we are aware of our role in the green transition, meaning we constantly strive to implement greener approaches in our organization to minimize our environmental impact. These implementations range from choices on optimizing our manufacturing processes to the products and solutions we develop.
Renewable energy is not new for us at DAFA.
During the last 10 years, we have had solar cell panels on the roof of our headquarters in Denmark. These generate about 6% of our total energy consumption at our headquarters, and in 2020, they reduced our CO2 emissions by approximately 5.5 tons*. In comparison, this percentage is relatively high, as Denmark’s average coverage of solar energy was about 4% in 2020**.
Though we are proud to have used solar energy for over a decade to support our production facilities and we regularly expand our plant, we recognize that this is just the beginning. As we highly value sustainability and innovation, we need to reflect upon our approaches and improve continuously. Therefore, by 2030, DAFA Group should run on 100% renewable energy, either extracted at our own plants or bought from external sources.
