Material declarations and recycling codes on DAFA’s solutions will enhance responsible disposal

At DAFA, we value environmental responsibility and strive to implement sustainable approaches whenever possible. In our constant search to improve, we have implemented various in-house initiatives such as optimizing our manufacturing processes to reduce waste and our shipping methods to reduce emissions. Though it is crucial to improve in-house, we also believe that it is important to contribute elsewhere. Therefore, we have decided to make it even more convenient for our customers to dispose of our solutions properly.

At DAFA, we aim for 50% of our waste to be recycled by 2030, and we highly encourage our customers to be conscious about responsible waste disposal as well. Therefore, DAFA has decided to accommodate even easier recycling of our solutions. In the future, we will declare on all solutions which materials they are composed of and how they should be disposed of in a responsible way. Hence, we will mark our solutions with a recycling code, which will further guide our customers and show that we are transparent about our solutions.

In addition, we recently acquired welding technology as a better alternative to adhesives. When welding together items of the same material, the recycling of the final product becomes much more manageable.

Furthermore, we provide our customers with elaborated disposal guides when needed. For instance, DAFA was recently contacted by one of our customers, a well-established wind turbine manufacturer, who requested a disposal guide for DAFA Universal Tip Protector. This customer, like DAFA, is quite conscious about proper waste handling and being mindful of reusing resources. Naturally, we agreed to make them an elaborate document with guidelines and recommendations for disassembling and disposing of DAFA’s product elements. This is an example of how we go to great extents for our customers and the environment, and we are indeed willing to produce other disposal guides upon request.

As we believe that sustainability happens in cooperation, we make an extra effort for our customers, so proper recycling and disposal of our solutions become even easier.
